Confirmation Journey

Growing in Faith and Becoming Members

At Bethany, we invite every baptized student to confirm the promises God made to them in their baptism. This journey begins in 6th grade with Transform on Wednesday evenings, culminating in a confirmation celebration in the fall of 9th grade. Throughout this time, students will delve into the foundational aspects of the Christian faith, explore the rich theological contributions of Lutheranism, and build a positive Christian community. Upon confirmation, students become members of Bethany.

Welcome, Rising 9th Grade Parents!

Get ready for an exciting new chapter! Your student is transitioning from middle school to high school, and before you know it, Confirmation will be here. We've got some wonderful new plans in store for you this year!

Pastor Jon is thrilled to introduce The Rooted Confirmation Series, a brand-new, six-week program. This series is designed to help your child deepen their understanding of their faith, strengthen their relationship with God, and discover the incredible rewards of being part of a faith community.

For this course, each student will receive a book that includes midweek readings and devotions. Pr. Jon will be guiding them through meaningful discussions as they prepare to become confirmed members of our church.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about the confirmation journey, what it involves, and how your student can take part.

Confirmation is an affirmation of one’s baptism. To be baptized please contact Student Ministries to schedule a baptism. You can choose to do so publicly or privately.

Absolutely, the content for Transform and Merge reinforces confirmation teachings and seeks to give students a sense of being seen and belonging in a faith community.

No problem. Students do not need to be confirmed in order to participate in Transform.

We know that family life can be busy. We want your child’s experience to be enjoyable. Confirmation is not a school program or a merit-based system, there is no pass/fail. It is available for all families to support their desire for their children to learn and affirm their faith.

Students are invited to continue their faith journey by participating in our high school ministry, Merge.
