Remarkable - Your Place in God's Story

Have you ever wondered if God has a specific call for you and how you might recognize and answer that call?

Does it seem sometimes like your call is rather mundane or ordinary? Are you ever unsure of your purpose or confused about what God is calling you to right now, in this season in your life?

God’s story is one of universal, abiding love, and yet, that story plays out for each one of us in uniquely specific ways. As The Message says, “Every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good” (Romans 8:28).

Join us as we hear from our guest speaker Michelle DeRusha, published Christian author and blogger, on the stories of some of the women who have walked before us in history in order to discern what God’s story and call might look like for each of us. We’ll also discuss the obstacles that inhibit us from recognizing and understanding our role in God’s story, as well as how community within the Body of Christ plays an important part in helping us listen to and follow God’s lead.

God has a call and a story uniquely suited to each one of us. Together let’s explore how to answer His call and live fully into His remarkable story.

A Massachusetts native, Michelle DeRusha moved to Nebraska in 2001, where she discovered the Great Plains, grasshoppers the size of chickens … and God.

She is the author of Spiritual Misfit: A Memoir of Uneasy Faith, 50 Women Every Christian Should Know: Learning from Heroines of the Faith, and her most recent book, Katharina and Martin Luther: The Radical Marriage of a Runaway Nun and a Renegade Monk, which released in January 2017. She also writes a monthly religion and spirituality column for the Lincoln Journal Star, and speaks around Nebraska and beyond.

Michelle writes about living out faith in the everyday at her blog, www.MichelleDeRusha.com.

She lives in Lincoln, Nebraska, with her husband and their two boys.
