2015 Kaya Vision Trip Day 8

From June 17, 2015

Joshua 1:9  ‘Be strong and courageous, do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.’

This is the verse that the two graduates from KAYA had on their slideshow tonight.  I found this verse to be one that all KAYA children should hold near to their heart.

2015 Kaya Vision Trip Day 6

From June 15, 2015

Today we woke up in the beautiful hostel Cafetal in Corioco, Bolivia.  We arrived last night after leaving camp.  Camp with the Kaya children was an amazing, wonderful, and successful experience, but it was an intense 48 hours.  The team did a wonderful job of giving the children everything they had but it was time for some recharging, processing, and relaxation.

2015 Kaya Vision Trip Day 5

From Sunday, June 14, 2015

Goodbye – for now…

We awoke this morning in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life.  Campo El Puente is situated in a lush green valley, along the “Rio Selva” in the jungle.  Mandarins the size of my hand hang from trees all over the camp property.  Banana trees adorn the camp as well, and several of the early rising children saw a monkey at the edge of camp this morning.

2015 Kaya Vision Trip Day 2

From June 11

Our day began just as we ended the last – waiting at the Miami airport. After minor delays, we boarded a bit before 1:00 am and took to the skies. I think many of us slept surprisingly well on that flight, considering the crammed conditions of air travel, and we were served a bizarrely-timed meal at 2:00. As we approached La Paz, we were greeted with a spectacular sunrise over the Andes Mountains (and many pictures were taken). It was a beautiful way to be welcomed into the country.

2015 Youth Mission Denver Update 2

Well today is the last day. I can't believe how fast this week has flown by! Last night we had an extremely passionate club time. We all were really honest and open with each other, and the presence of the Holy Spirit was so evident. There was not one dry eye in the room. I think for some of the students this was the first time they had ever experienced the presence of the Lord in such a strong way. It is times like that that make my job so easy to love!

We are all packed up and ready to leave! It is raining cats and dogs out here, so please pray for a safe return.

2015 Kaya Vision Trip Day 1

Update from Wednesday evening, June 10, 2015

Hi everyone!

2015 Youth Mission Denver Update 1

I am so impressed with the students on this trip! They have been working their hearts out every day, and they all have such a positive attitude. They have been so enthusiastic about doing all they can do to serve the people in need here in Denver. What makes me most excited is how well they all are getting along. It seems like there are no walls up between anyone. They are just so willing to encourage each other, and when someone is feeling down there is one of the other students to help pull them back up. I honestly have never seen a youth mission team with a stronger bond.
